The Cable Bay Adventure Park works closely with 3 local Nelson operators that are taking care of shuttles for the summer. With their local knowledge, availability & expertise, it’s the best way forward for everyone to get the most out of their descents!
Trail access when shuttling
A Day pass or annual membership is still required when shuttling at Cable Bay with a third party operator. Day passes can be pre purchased on our book now page and shown on arrival or purchased on the day at our booking office
Summer Shuttles
We’ve partnered with Mountain Bike Nelson for regular public and private shuttles here at Cable Bay Adventure Park. They shuttle you to the top of our tracks so you can ride more, and pedal less. It’s all about getting the most out of your day and experiencing all that the park has to offer!
Public Shuttles
Mountain Bike Nelson like to keep things simple. Park members and day pass holders can jump in a public shuttle for a half or full run to the trailheads. Public shuttles run Friday evenings 4pm – 7pm, Saturdays & Sundays 9:30am – 3:30pm
Half run $15, full run $30, and multi-run passes are available for epic savings.

Private Shuttles with Mountain Bike Nelson
Life doesn’t get better than a day shuttling Cable Bay Adventure Park your way with Mountain Bike Nelson. Book your own private shuttle for a morning or full day and ride all your most coveted tracks. Mountain Bike Nelson will work with you and your riding group to put together a day to remember.
Half-day private shuttles for 4+ riders is $85 p/person, or book a full day for $145pp

Do I need to book for public shuttles?
No, just come along. The driver will take cash, card, or a Mountain Bike Nelson multi-run pass. Check the latest schedule on Mountain Bike Nelson’s social media or email nathan@mountainbikenelson.co.nz to confirm public shuttles days.
How many people can you shuttle?
We can cater to any group size of 4 or more people. Our trailer takes up to 12 bikes and we love shuttling big groups!

Private Shuttles with Gravity Nelson
Gravity Nelson offer a varirty of vehicle options and schedules to suit your needs and party numbers out at Cable Bay! From a couple of hours and a couple of mates to up to 9 in the troopy and a full day - they have you covered!
Half-day shuttles usually start at 10am or 2pm, and full-day shuttles at 10am.
$90 a person for a half day (3 runs)
$150 a person for a full day (5 runs)
Gravity’s pricing for private shuttles is based on a $30 per run per person rate with a minimum of four booked in the shuttle. There is a 10% discount for Nelson Mountain Bike club members.
Garvity also have two five seater utes (driver plus up to four riders) which can shuttle private groups at a flat $115/hour, with a minimum of three hours hire. These utes are quick and efficient ways for small groups of riders to quickly and efficiently smash out laps on the Nelson trails, half a morning at Cable Bay and an afternoon up fringed hill if you want to get it all!

Bike Hire - 1/2 & Full Day
We have a small fleet of Rental bikes here at the Park. Full suspension E-bikes - Standard and Premium, and Full suspension mountain bikes - Giant Reigns. All rentals include a helmet, map and support in the case of a mechanical/flat/incident.
Standard E-bike fleet: We offer 6x Giant Trance E-bikes, 2x Small, 2x Medium and 2x Large
These are perfect for beginners through to capable intermediate riders and handle well up to the G4 trails we have in the park. We also have a 4X4 scenic road/trail out to our stunning lookout; Bayview. Perfect for a wee picnic stop and around 14km return
Premium E-bike fleet: New to the park this summer we’ve got 3x Trek Rails in 2x medium and 1 large and 1x Whyte size large
Later models so a bit lighter and a better fit for the experienced/advance rider and can tackle all trails in the park
Full Suspension Fleet: All Giant Reigns, 160mm on the forks and 150mm on the rear, capable for all terrain and abilities
1x Small, 1x Medium 1x Large

All Trails are on the Trailfork app which can be downloaded for free and this shows access routes and trail grading - there is also directional signage around the park and maps available at reception.
The trails are built between us and a hearty volunteer crew - The Cable Bay Trail Crew - that come out to the park once a week to shift dirt and make magic - we are so grateful for them!
