Mountain biking and Bike Hire

The Cable Bay Adventure Park has a range of biking options to suit most riders and the best news is, it is constantly expanding.

Access to the park is via yearly membership or the purchase of a day pass. Riding will be available during business hours for day pass holders and after hours access is also available for yearly memberships and by arrangement. Day pass holders can ride after hours if they start during business hours and arrange for a gate exit code. Riders can bring their own bikes, sign an access waiver and enjoy some of the best Native riding in Nelson. Discounts for MTB club members from Nelson, Marlborough and Golden Bay

Riders under 10 must be accompanied by an Adult. Access for walking lower farm / river areas free of charge.

We have a small fleet of rental bikes ranging from a Size Small to Large, A standard rental which is perfect for the beginner to Intermediate rider and perfectably capable up to the Grade 4’s. For the more advanced rider, we have a premium fleet which is a slightly newer model so a bit lighter and more travel to handle all the terrain in the park - pricing and booking on our page listed - Book here

The trail system has had some great new developments, really opening up to the G3 catergory with 4 trails from top to bottom linking into each other. On top of these we have 4 awesome G4 options followed by true Nelson grade 5 (think Black Diamond - double Black Diamond). The majority of the trails are set in spectacular native forest and bush with the trail characteristic's of the G4's and 5's steep, techy and rocky.

There are also great options to ride the network of 4x4 trails out to the stunning views - Bayview is the locals favorite and for those hiring E-bikes - it’s about a 15 km round trip, as well as the Fun track which is great for smaller kids and those wanting to stay on the flat. You’re also welcome to take the E-bike down to Cable Bay Beach for a look and a swim! security deposit required on all hires

The trails are built between us and a hearty volunteer crew that come out to the park once a week to shift dirt and make magic - we are so grateful for them!
